A Billion Dollar Salad.
THAT is a lot of money, and a lot of wealth, and salad.
This is not going to be a long post, but well worth the read.
I was recently talking over lunch to a CEO and Founder of a company that does over a billion dollars a year and it is a traditional business. He was enjoying his salad immensely. Turns out that his salad contained a billion dollars worth of advice as well.
At least it helped catalyzed it.
The CEO is well spoken and a brilliant visionary, and a good friend of mine. I have learned much from him. We have done some business together in the past and will again.
He and I were talking about social media marketing and all the possibilities that were there, and he asked me a question.
“Would you like a piece of billion dollar advice?”
“Sure-you bet” I said.
He leaned over his billion dollar salad and smiled, and said, “I have watched social media for the last 4 years, and it appears that you have done allright with it with exposing your trainings on the social sites. Bravo. I have also noticed that there is a well kept secret that most in social media have not figured out, but the ones who have– are getting very rich in social media. VERY rich. You have done well, but want to do a whole lot better?”
I was all ears.
“Here is a secret-find out what people are looking for - I mean REALLY LOOKING FOR and REALLY WANTING -take the time to study that –ask a lot research questions in your marketing niche about what is missing and what void needs to be filled desperately. THEN-give it to them…but do it BETTER than anyone else possibly could imagine. Drop their jaws. Make your competitors envious and depressed… do that in social media, and you will own your social media marketing niche within a year or sooner. Guaranteed.”
THAT is a billion dollar nugget – for social media marketing.
